Today I want to share with you one of my favorite spots in Montreal. It is called “Les Petits Gateaux” and has the best cupcakes in town, in my opinion. A friend of mine was in town  for only a few days and really wanted to go there although she only had free time in the morning.

This is what the store looks like, let me tell you the picture does not do it justice. It is very cute and at the back behind the pink curtain they have a kitchen where they bake all day, so there’s a delicious smell when you come in.

This is when it becomes complicated…too many flavors I love. The first you see is violet (one of my favorites!), then its citrus, and then raspberry.

We had a chocolate/truffle cupcake. It was delicious… I wish I had taken a picture after we cut it, it looked even better!

They have these in the window, I don’t usually like when food is displayed in the windows, unless they’re the ones in the fridge that you are actually going to buy. But here it’s different, Les Petits Gateaux makes new cupcake designs adapted to every season and holidays. For instance, for Christmas they have Christmas trees, snowmen etc…

The boxes are very nice too!

They offer a wide variety of cupcakes…the majority of them have mini versions which makes it even better.

You can either eat there and have coffee, tea, juices,… or you can buy a box of 6 or 12 mini cupcakes. For the regular versions they offer boxes of 2,6 or 12 (I think!).
