Chillaxing Sunday #5 | The books I’m into at the moment
I was debating whether to show you another beauty pampering favourite of mine but I decided to show you the recent books and magazines I bought. Nowadays I spend the majority of my time starring at a computer screen for work, for the blog, for reading blogs and watching series… Truth be told I rarely read during the year because “I don’t have time to”. In the summer I usually read a lot, I get into books and then I don’t care what there is on TV or anything else. So I decided to make time for reading because it is important to step away from the computer and it is a great way to relax.
I went to what in my opinion is the best book British bookstore in Brussels, Waterstones. Stepping into that store I feel like I am in the UK. You can obviously find books but also a very wide range British and American magazines… they even have a little corner with British food.
Waterstones are great at writing book reviews and recommending you books. I got the Lena Dunham “Not that kind of girl” book (21,15 euros), I blame this one on blogs and Instagram … I am planning on starting it today, I will report back on that.
I bought Vogue UK. I must say I do not usually buy this magazine on a monthly basis but I do splurge when I see one I like, which was the case here. I completely loved the cover with Taylor Swift and when I heard YouTuber Zoe was in it I thought I had to have it.
Finally, I got the Nordic Bakery cook book by Miisa Mink (24,05 euros). I have already used it twice I have done the Oatbake with blueberries and raspberries and the raspberry twists. This book is amazing, I have never been to the Nordic bakery or ever had Scandinavian pastry. All the pictures in this book make you want to cook or bake, the recipes are not too hard yet hard enough that they make you feel like you have achieved something. Not only do the sweet recipes look delicious the savoury ones look amazing too. My next challenge might be the Arctic roll with vanilla and chocolate.
Here is how I plan on spending my Sunday afternoon and evening.
I hope you had a great weekend so far and are enjoying some relaxing time today.
See you tomorrow.
